Mar's Profile
Marlene Miller, Artist

Hello, and thanks for stopping by!  My name is Marlene Miller, and I am a self-taught artist residing in Roseville, California.

“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, as an artist, will answer you: I came to live out loud.” I love that quote by Emile Zola! Why would anyone want to hide or hold back their true passion?!? I certainly don’t want that. I want to live out loud, too!!

My love for painting began when I was in my teens, and that passion has been rekindled recently when I discovered Alcohol Inks as a new painting medium. I love the beauty and vibrancy of their colors! Alcohol Inks also seem to have a mind of their own, but I enjoy that challenge … ‘taming the inks’.

I have always been inspired by animals, and in particular, dogs. I’ve been blessed to have had three golden retrievers and one yellow lab in my life as my incredible furbabies. There is something so special about the loyalty and unconditional love of a dog. As Robert Caras once said, “Animals are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” I’m sure that every pet owner feels that way about their own pets.

It is with that belief and passion that has led me on a journey over the past three years of painting custom pet portraits. My goal is to capture the heart and soul of your beloved pets in my paintings. If I can capture that, you will not only SEE my paintings, but you will FEEL them too.

“Less about what the EYE sees, and more about what the SOUL feels …” ~Marlene Miller Art~
